What the maker puts in writing

  • 304 double-layer stainless steel, forged, sturdy and corrosion resistant
  • Double-layer wall isolates inside from outside — no ice needed
  • 4.7 in diameter × 7.7 in high · fits wine, champagne, juice and beverages
  • No ice cubes to melt, no water droplets to deal with

The arithmetic

Fifty-nine dollars ninety-nine, divided by four.

Fifteen dollars a bucket, in food-grade stainless, with a published size that checks out against the catalog to the millimeter.

The single-bottle sleeve on this shelf is $35 — and it has a vacuum and a copper layer and a certificate, which this does not.

Which to buy

One bottle on a wooden table that must not get a ring on it: the S’well.

Four bottles on a dinner table: these, twice over, for less.

What readers ask us

Double wall or vacuum?

The listing says double-layer 304 stainless and does not claim a vacuum. A vacuum between the walls is what makes a flask a flask; a plain air gap insulates much less. The S’well sleeve on this shelf publishes a triple-layered vacuum, for $35 — against $15 here.

Why does 304 matter?

It is the standard food-grade austenitic stainless, the same family as the 18/8 the S’well listing names. It will not rust around wine or ice water, which is what the corrosion claim is about.

Will it sweat on my table?

The listing makes no condensation claim, and a double-walled bucket with a cold bottle in it will reach dew point on the outside in a warm room. S’well states condensation-free; Jolitac does not. Use a coaster.
