  • The most tools of any kit on this shelf: 7-in-1 wrench, faucet plug, faucet brush, coupler brush that doubles as a ball lifter, and a printed manual
  • The ball lifter holds the coupler check valve open, which is the step that otherwise stops solution reaching the keg side
  • Takes a public swipe at no-rinse cleaners, which is the headline feature of another kit on this shelf, and offers no test either way

Best for: The best-equipped toolkit on this shelf, for any faucet, with a manual in the box

  • Fits most faucets, towers or shanks; the ball lifter holds your coupler check valve open
  • Cleaner good for 15–20 uses
  • “We include a heavy duty cleaner none of those inexpensive no rinser cleaners. Similar to PBW. We recommend using PBW in the future.”
  • If the adapter slips from the hose, cut the last ½ inch and reinsert, securing with a zip tie or clamp

The fullest toolbox here

Seven-in-one wrench. Faucet plug. Faucet brush. Coupler brush that lifts the check valve. Printed manual.

No other kit on this shelf includes a ball lifter, and without one the cleaning solution stops at the coupler.

The disagreement, in the maker’s own words

Bullet four takes a position against no-rinse cleaners — the exact thing another maker on this shelf sells as its main feature.

Neither publishes a test. What is left is a choice between a stronger cleaner with a rinse, and a gentler one without. Both work if you follow the bottle.

Two dollars

That is what separates this from the same maker’s ball lock kit: the same pump, the same four ounces, the same fifteen to twenty uses, plus a wrench and a ball lifter.

Take the wrench.

What readers ask us

What is a ball lifter for?

A beer coupler has a check valve that stays shut unless a keg is connected. The ball lifter props it open so cleaning solution can pass through it. It is a small part that makes the difference between cleaning the line and cleaning the line and the coupler, and only this kit on the shelf includes one.

Is the no-rinse criticism fair?

It is an opinion published in a product listing, not a test. Fermtech supplies a heavy-duty cleaner and says it is similar to PBW; Escentile on this shelf supplies a no-rinse active oxygen powder for thirty-plus uses. Both are sold to clean beer lines and both are followed by reading their own instructions.

This or the ball lock version?

This connects through the faucet and fits most towers and shanks; the $37.99 version uses a ball lock keg adapter. Same pump, same 4 oz, same 15–20 uses. This one also brings the 7-in-1 wrench and the ball lifter, for $2.
