  • The only one that explains its cleaning direction and why: bottom up, to stop air gaps forming in the line
  • Does not say how many cleaning packets are included, where every other supplier on this shelf publishes a count or a weight

Best for: A kegerator owner who wants cleaning to be the same two-second twist as changing a keg

Two sentences that no other listing here contains

Works with the Standard Kegs (Sankey D) as well as Home Brew kegs (ball lock).

Cleaning your lines using the bottom up approach prevents air gaps in the lines.

The first answers the question that decides whether a kit works in your house. The second explains a method, which on a shelf of nine listings happens exactly once.

What it costs

Fifty dollars, against $29.25 for a kit with four doses and $34.99 for a kit with thirty.

You are paying for the connection — a twist instead of a wrench — and for a maker that tells you how its own method works.

What it will not tell you

How many packets are in the box.

What readers ask us

Why does bottom-up matter?

Because cleaning from the top down lets air pockets form behind the solution, and a line full of air is a line not being cleaned. Bar-King pumps from the bottom so the solution pushes the air out ahead of it. It is the only listing on this shelf to raise the point.

Will it fit my keg?

Sankey D — the common commercial standard — and ball lock, the homebrew standard. That makes it the only kit here that covers both, and the only one that answers the question at all: the Kegco and Escentile kits do not name a standard, and the Fermtech ball lock kit does one.

How many cleanings are included?

Not stated for this kit, which is the one real omission. Bar-King also sells 32 individual packets on this shelf at $34.95, so refills are easy and the price per cleaning is known: $1.09.
