Removable, contact-exposed parts benefit from more frequent attention than the machine’s internal lines, which run on their own cleaning cycle.
Wash removable parts after each use session, not just daily
Any removable mixing bowl, cup rest, or drip catch that comes into direct contact with drinks or spills benefits from washing after each use session — waiting until the end of the day lets residue sit and harden.
Sugary residue is harder to remove once dried
Mixers and syrups left to dry on a removable part become noticeably harder to clean than if addressed promptly — a quick rinse after use prevents this buildup from becoming a bigger cleaning job later.
This is separate from the internal line cleaning cycle
See our note on cleaning a cocktail machine’s internal lines — the machine’s built-in cleaning cycle addresses internal residue, while removable external parts need their own separate, more frequent hand-washing.
What to do in practice
Rinse or wash removable mixing-area parts after each use session, and run the machine’s internal cleaning cycle on its own separate, regular schedule.
What we would not do
Rely on the internal cleaning cycle alone to keep removable external parts clean — those need their own more frequent attention.
